Suzette Sims is a member of McQuaide Blasko’s litigation team, where she concentrates her practice on representing individuals in a broad range of civil actions and administrative law matters, from personal injury, medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, Social Security benefits to business litigation, employment discrimination, and landlord-tenant disputes.

A native Hoosier and third-generation lawyer, Suzette began her career in Indiana, where she practiced law for 20 years before relocating to Pennsylvania with her husband and two sons in 2008. Her early career included service as a deputy attorney general in the Tort Litigation Division of the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Indiana, where her statewide practice involved representing the interests of state agencies, such as the Indiana Department of Transportation, the Indiana State Police, and the Indiana Department of Corrections, in various civil litigation matters.

Suzette’s predominate practice has been in the area of insurance defense litigation. She has represented insureds of more than 20 insurance carriers and has litigated cases involving negligence, medical malpractice, product liability, toxic tort, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, and employment discrimination, as well as insurance coverage issues and business disputes involving such claims as breach of contract, violation of non-compete agreements, tortious interference, and trade secrets. Suzette has managed cases through all phases of the litigation process, from discovery through trial and appeal. She has significant first-chair experience in bench trials, jury trials, arbitrations, and mediation.

Suzette’s practice also includes drafting and reviewing business contracts. She has prepared personnel manuals and advised clients on employee discipline and recordkeeping.
