Since joining McQuaide Blasko as an associate in 2008, Philip K. Miles III has concentrated his practice on labor and employment law, personal injury defense, and general civil litigation. He and the firm’s labor and employment law team represent clients ranging from individuals to small businesses to large employers with thousands of employees. The team works on issues including employment discrimination (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, PHRA), unemployment compensation, contracts and restrictive covenants, employee policies and handbooks, and wage and hour labor issues.

Among Mr. Miles’ recent achievements for clients are:

  • Contributing to successful motions for dismissal and summary judgment, resulting in dismissal of discrimination claims brought against employers
  • Obtaining unemployment compensation benefits for employees at the referee hearing and Unemployment Compensation Board of Review (UCBR) levels
  • Successfully representing employers in denying unemployment compensation benefits at the referee hearing, UCBR, and Commonwealth Court levels
  • Recovering benefits owed to employees through Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Law litigation, including interest and attorney’s fees

Mr. Miles publishes a highly regarded independent employment law blog, Lawffice Space, featuring commentary on cases, current events, and other developments in the field of employment law.

As a shareholder in McQuaide Blasko’s State College office, Mr. Miles also handles general civil litigation, including personal injury, property damage, and vehicle accident cases, for clients throughout Central Pennsylvania.
